Recognizing and Celebrating Gender Equity at Lehigh

The Lead with GLE awards recognize the work of people and organizations who seek to create a world where people thrive, while expressing their gender/sex in ways that are best for them. Recipients of this award might participate in one of many ways, including

  • being in spaces where their gender/sex has been historically underrepresented,
  • advocating for gender/sex inclusive policies and behaviors,
  • sustained commitment to gender/sex equity,
  • impacting for the better the ways in which gender/sex show up in communities, policies, of infrastructures,
  • entering with enthusiasm and humility into gender/sex equity work for the first time, or
  • receiving local, national, or international recognition for their work in gender/sex equity work, presenting on their gender/sex equity work at conferences, or publishing on their work in the field.

2026 Recipients

The Luminary Recipient: Recognized for doing gender equity work. They may be activists, advocates, innovators, or creatives. However they do it, they make meaningful contributions to building a more gender-equitable world, and they call-in others to participate in the work.

The Boundary Breaker Recipient: Recognized for re/creating space for people who don't usually have a seat at the table. They may be revising policies, asking questions about who's not present, or using their own presence to call in others into gender equity conversations.

The Champion Award Recipient: Recognized for being a consistent ally and/or champion of gender equity. They may not be the loudest in the room or take the credit, but they make space for others to thrive in gender-equitable environments.
