Dr. Robinson's Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama, with a concentration in Social and Cultural Studies, laid the foundation for his groundbreaking research. His dissertation, "More than Just a Game: The Impact of Sports on Racial Segregation in One Southern Town," illuminated the pivotal role of sports in the Civil Rights Movement. Through an in-depth examination of school desegregation in Valdosta, Georgia, from 1965 to 1971, Dr. Robinson revealed how Black football athletes at Valdosta High School leveraged their athletic success to transform racial tension into unity.
But Dr. Robinson's academic credentials extend far beyond his doctoral work. He also holds an M.Ed. in Counseling and a BFA in Sculpture from Delta State University. This diverse educational background informs his multidimensional approach to education and leadership, enabling him to tackle complex challenges with creativity and nuance.
Dr. Robinson's dedication to promoting diversity and combating racism is evident in his pursuit of various certifications. He has completed the Academy for Anti-Racist Leadership Training and received certification from the NADOHE Standards of Professional Practice Institute (Chief Diversity Certification Training). Additionally, he holds certificates from AAAED in federal programs such as Title VI, Title IX, and Sec. 504.
Growing up in the Mississippi Delta profoundly shaped Dr. Robinson's passion for diversity and inclusion. Having witnessed the damaging effects of exclusion firsthand, he is committed to cultivating environments that celebrate differences and promote equity.
