Mia is the Graduate Assistant at the Pride Center, pursuing her Master's in Biomedical Engineering. Originally from North Philadelphia, Mia is a first-gen student with many passions, including music, science, animals, and advocacy for intersectional communities. She received her undergrad from Lehigh as well, studying biology and education. It was during this time that she joined SPEAK, Lehigh's peer-education group for LGBTQ+ and intersectional issues. She was also a member of several music groups, including Lehigh Off the Record, an all-gender a cappella group, and the University Choir, where she became the first recipient of the Stephanie Pervall Choral Scholarship, a sponsorship that supports Black students in the Choral Arts at Lehigh. As the GA, Mia now takes the lead of PRISM, a safe space for queer graduate students and their allies.
